If you are visiting Israel during the summer you will need lightweight clothing - short-sleeved and
sleeveless shirts, shorts, sandals, beach shoes and a bathing suit.  It’s also a good idea to pack
a sweater or jacket, since nights in the mountains and the desert can be cool.

If you are visiting Israel in the winter, you will need warm clothing, a coat (preferably a raincoat
as well), good shoes, an umbrella, gloves, a scarf and other warm clothing.  Weather in Israel is
not cold as it is in Europe, but days can be rainy and cold.

It’s a good idea to bring a small bag for day trips.  If you are traveling to Eilat or the Dead Sea, it’
s a good idea to bring a bathing suit, since it is warm enough to swim there even in the winter.

Sunscreen, a sun hat, and sunglasses are essential items throughout the year.

If you are planning on hiking, you will need good shoes and a lot of water, either in a canteen or
in several bottles. You will need a sleeping bag, tent, and camping equipment only if you are
planning on sleeping outdoors.  Most youth hostels supply sheets and blankets.  
Israel has rough terrian, everything, even all the
buildings in Jerusalem are build of Jerusalem Stone
which is rugged, like some of the walking areas. This
is not a good place to wear your high heels!
Ozone laYers are different in each country.
In Israel, the Ozone is most thin as well as
when you go to the DeaD Sea, you may
burn if you do not protect your skin.
With a hat, you will fit right in with
the rest, besides, if offers protection
from the sun as well.
Even if you never read the bible, you will find in a common bible
MANY of the places mentioned in it, You can mark it as a
remembrance, that you had been there!
Woman: Don't be offended if you should be
nearly to your ankles. If you don't do this, you
may offend someone else. If you want to walk
into the religious areas of MEA SHERM, or the
KOTEL WAILING WALL, you will need to wear
a closed top, or long skirt. This is not the place
to show off your new min skirt, unless your
really wanting attention. MEN, It is a good ideal
to bring a pear of slacks, you will not be
allowed to walk into certain areas without full

and can be easily laundered. Layer with a sweater for cool summer nights.

Take long shorts, skirts, long- and short-sleeved T-shirts, khakis, button-down shirts, sunglasses and a hat for
visits between May and September, when the sun is most intense. Keep skirt lengths to the knee and below.
Take a large scarf to layer over bare arms at religious sites.

Bring a jacket, a few sweaters and long pants for visits between October and April, when temperatures hover
between the high 40s and high 60s. Showers may fall during this period, so an umbrella is wise.

Pack comfortable walking shoes or sandals for sight-seeing. Darker colors will hide any dust or dirt.

Stash a bathing suit and sunscreen in your bag in case you have the opportunity to visit an Israeli beach

Remember insect repellent.


















Take an electric converter and adapter. If you are from another
country that does not use the standard 210 volt plug of Israel, you
will need and adapter.  If you are taking a desktop, you will need a
